There are many things that were done to the last minute on your shoot day. Our shoot was on Monday the 12th January. A lot of things such as props and pits for the actual scene had to be brought and put up on the morning of the shoot just before the start.
First of all we started shooting in room 11.These scene mean to show a mobster sitting in a chair looking out of the window at his boxers while another man comes in and though the body guard the exchange had been made. In this shot we have used props such as black cloth to black out the floor, black outs to cover and close the walls, lights in order to change the lighting and it looked like a different place and not like a class room, we also used an arm chair that the mobster sat in, a side table which was quite small and had a bottle of whisky (tea) and a half filed glass, we also used a camera, tripod and all the extras in order to film.
One of my jobs was to find the actors so first of all because we had a different idea I found various people to be in our opening scene moving on our idea changes constantly so I was harder and harder to find the actors that would be perfect for the role. First of all because it was coming closer and closer to the shooting day and most other classes and groups were filming approximately at the same time we couldn’t take the same actors so many of them were already asked and taken, another reason is because in out opening scene we need the actors to look professional and old this is quite tricky to find at school so we came to a solution and the boxers in our film were the students that looked older then the other lot and could be shown as professional boxer and the three man that were playing in the exchange bit were brought in by Bex (our media studies teacher)
Well the toilet bit was different to what I have expected and in fact I believe it looks much more realistic professional and nicer In the end then I have thought it would look and I am glad we have changed that bit in the toilet and it went the way it have.
The were a number of bits I thought went well in the shooting such as the toilet scene I think it looks very realistic and gives us a great idea of what is happening and a good introduction to a film, also I believe the acting was brilliant as the actors in the exchange scene were old enough to play the roles and also looked perfect for their actual role ion the film. So I think the acting was good also the location of the exchange was very helpful because it was fairly dark and therefore gave a suspicion and made people wonder what is going on in the film.
Although there are some greats bits there are also things that didn’t go as well as it might of gone. I am talking about the boxing scene. As much as I believe we had some great actors and a good idea which was released and brought up quite well I think the only thing that have put us down is the location, because we couldn’t use the room we thought we will use originally it wasn’t as great. First of all it was quite light and didn’t give such and intention and also it was a class room and in many bits you could see the school boards and the tables which might confuse the audience and not give them such a clear idea of our performance.
If we had another chance of filming I reckon I would only change one bit and this is the day of the shoot. I would try to get a day were there is no heavy raining because I believe it would be a great idea to shoot the boxing scene outside. It would give and idea of the boxers being very tuff and hard because they would be training outside in a cold environment witch would make them more aggressive.
